Hey quick question for anyone willing to help,
I've been recently rebuilding a 6-pack clone 1969 superbee and am wondering if the highrise manifold for the 6-pack setup will fit under the fiberglass hood. She won't have the original Holley's on her, instead has (the now discontinued) demon carbs. specs show that the carbs are the same in height and width and length. the only consideration i do not know is the air cleaner fitting up against the hood with the aftermarket Edelbrock highrise manifold for the six pack set-up. if anyone has used the manifold before and it has run into this as well, any feedback is well welcomed. I'd hate to find out after everything is in place that it's 2 inches too high (i doubt it would be that much) or something along the lines of "it don't fit".
thanks,

Matt

be specific on which manifold your using. the ch6 will fit with no issues. the str14 and wiend tunnel ram may have issues.

I've been told the Weiand setup will fit under a stock hood, but not if you run an aircleaner. The carbs are up inside the scoop.

B Body Bob? I gotta know you. I'm over in South Point, been doin mainly GTX's here for the last 25 years or so. What're you rolling?

Looking at some pictures of what a str-14 manifold is I can say it's definitely not one of those, sadly though I don't have the manifold with me at the moment so I can't say what it is other than that is is a repro of the stock manifold, made by Edelbrock and is a simple 3x2 set-up nothing fancy. I'll see if I can grab some pictures of what I have for more information.

Got a 69-1/2 road runner in pieces right now. You probably don't know me, I'm sort of a loner. Last b-body I had on the road was a B5 blue 70 gTx.

Hi rise fit

The STR-14-6 will fit under a stock hood, if you don't mind modifying the air cleaner base a bit to lower the profile of the air cleaner and trim a bit off of the inside of the hood to accommodate the air cleaner. A friend of mine has a 528+6 in his 69 RR and he ran a STR-14-6 for a while. Now he runs the Mod Man intake. He has the 6-pack hood with stock height scoop, not the one with the higher scoop (4 inch?)

I have a Weiand Hi rise crossram #P3690982, but with the 4bbl top plate, on my 68 Satellite with a 6-pack hood. Standard height scoop, not the raised one. Carb fits fine under the hood, but my particular hood has a bracing on the back of the hood that runs the full width of the hood on the inside (my friend's RR hood does not have this) and that interferes with the six-pack air cleaner element I am using and the base plate for this element. Instead of cutting the hood, we made a custom base plate that clears the hood and used the bracing to have the element fit between the inside of the scoop and the base plate. Having said that; if your hood has this bracing, it will need trimming to clear the rear outboard carb on a 6-pack. I have about an inch of clearance between scoop and air horn of carb (Edelbrock AVS). It's tight, but it hasn't given me any problems yet. Runs very strong.

Hope this helps a bit.
