I'm curious what others are using for a fan and shroud on their Darts with a big block. I have a 413 and an aluminum 26" radiator from AutoCity Classics. I had a shroud that was on the previous factory radiator that the last owner zip tied on but the shroud broke. Fan wise, it has an aftermarket 5 blade fan, no clutch. At idle it'll reach about 210 in mid 80's temps. I want to put a stock fan and shroud on but I'm not 100% sure what will fit this setup.

In my 62 Dart, converted to a bb, aluminum radiator and factory fan, no overheating issues.

But, if I were to install a new fan it would be the same as my a-body (except iirc the fan clutch would not be the low profile version, so a different part #).

In my 67 383 a-body, I have the factory bb radiator, Hayden 2947 low profile fan clutch, Derale 18" fan, 180 stat, no shroud, no room for a shroud really, zero temp issues.

Hayden clutch and the Derale fan are a great readily available combo.

A typical fan "shroud" has three different and possibly beneficial tasks.
One aspect helps draw all air thru the entire radiator. The downside is at speed, confining all the air thru the fan can actually restrict total radiator air flow at speed.
Hence the sometimes-seen relief flaps. I question whether they are sufficient to minimize restriction, often I think not.

Two, the typical "shroud" traps air radially from escaping the rotating fan blades and/or forcing the pulling of air thru the radiator rather than from the gap between fan and the radiator. An alternative simple circular tight fitting "shroud" ring also improves the efficiency of the fan, forces all air the fan moves to be taken thru the radiator (nothing escapes), and allows significant remaining open area for radiator air flow at high speed, outside the shroud and not restricted by the fan.

Three, a shroud does provide a bit of safety as a guard for misplaced hands or broken blades.

I don't remember any stock shrouds on 62's.
