62 Dart Original Interior Colors

62 Dart 440 with red interior.
Original red dash and red seat covers, split front bench.
Non-original red headliner and red carpet.

I know the headliner s/b white perforated board, no mount in the ceiling for the light, light is the board mount type, chrome strips for between the boards in the trunk.

Brochure shows black carpet, I was able to locate very few low mileage 'original' cars and restored cars with black carpet.

My gut says the carpet would originally have been black, thinking restorations look 'better' with matching carpet.
Other Dart 440s with colors other than red interior have matching colored carpets.
I was unable to locate any other interior colors with black carpet in cars within original ads or low mileage originals.

Do you have a Factory Service Manual, the interior colors are listed near the back. A lot of red upholstered '62s had red carpet.

You can make it any color you want.

FWIW mine was black cut pile from the factory, I replaced with a black loop about 8 years ago.
