62 Dodge Dart Strreting box

Getting ready to install my power steering box and was wondering if it should be left natural cast iron or did Ma Mopar paint them Low/med/hi gloss black?

at one time Eastwood was selling a cast iron looking paint that made one think it was a natural look though provided anti-rust qualities. I think the name was Cast Blast...I used on one of my cars some 23 years ago and the items still looks like new cast iron finish..might not be your answer but food for thought...

I believe in 62 they were painted a semi-gloss black.
