After sitting in grandmas garage for 50 years its coming out of retirement. Its been a year this week since i flew up north to assemble so a hauler could bring it south for me. Did Not want to but because of other peoples bad decisions i removed every nut and bolt on the car. Bought a trailer and a rotisserie and last week it came back from Blast Services where my friend Todd media blasted it and treated it with phosphoric acid. Now at home its been cleaned and epoxy primed. Hope you like the photos.

That's going to be a great car. What are the plans for it?

It was the car my dad had when he pick me and my mom up from the hospital 50 years ago when i was born. He parked it for good that fall because he didnt want a baby in a convertible in the winter. It will eventually go to one of my kids. It came with a 318 3speed on the tree but he changed it out for a 383 with an automatic trans. Thats why there is a hole cut out in the floor in the pictures they needed extra room in the tunnel. Because i dont have original engine and trans i am going restomod. I plan to keep the 383 in the spirit he intended it. Its beefy but not a race car its a convertible and i live in Florida. A little muscle to go to the beach.

That's very cool. Look forward to following along

I did, well still doing,a 63 Fury Convertible, I put US Car Tool subframe connectors in mine, I highly recommend them especially on a ragtop.

Nice looking 62 and in really good condition .
I'm very surprised there is no bracing in the door areas while you have it on a rotisserie?

Looking good, always a great feeling when the paint goes on!

Polara let me tell you this car when my uncle striped it down left it for dead was hanging three feet off the ground by two ten foot i beams attached at the bumper supports for over 30 years when i went to put the doors on they rubbed from the flex of the frame. But when i got the car back on 4 wheels it went right back in to position like nothing ever happened. Im ruffing up the primer on the undercarriage and painting it on thursday, the trunk and passenger compartment on friday. Then the slow process of assembly. And yes its a great feeling i live in Florida and everything rust if not painted so maybe feel more relieved.
