Any idea how the three finger metal locking clip was fastened to the rear of the center piece at the factory? Mine was glued on when I got it and right now I’ve JBd it on. When I cleaned it up I saw the three raised nipples on the face that position the locking fingers but can’t tell what is supposed to hold it together?

As I recall the die cast housing had pins. The steel locking tab fit over the pins and was peened to stay on. Your pins are most likely broken off.

Guess I didn’t look at them that close. They looked like rounded over nipples, just for positioning the fingers. Hopefully the JB holds. I won’t want to try brazing it in with that plastic face on the front.

Should look like this. Seems the pins or one of those were skanked..

Maybe the JB will hold long enough for me to find a good replacement. Have to put up an ad in the wanted section.

I had one that someone put a hole/screw in the middle, screw too long, put a nick in the emblem from the back.
The one I have now, po drilled 3 holes where the pins were, very short small screws, works fine.

Had thought about this. Would be tedious to drill but might be better than a gob of JB..
