So I horse traded for a 63 belvedere 4 dr. I'm trying to budget build this as much as possible. I have several items from a 05 chrysler concorde for it, seats, stereo, seat belts. I have a replacement slant from an 86 Dodge 1/2 ton. tranny looks to be in good shape.

Anyways, my main question is the rear axle is screwed and I was hoping to replace it again on the cheap. I have an 8 3/4 out of a 69 D100 that I could use with the proper center section. Anyone know if I could make it work? I want to use the wheels off the 05 concorde which has a high offset so I think that might make up for the wider axle.

honestly if I can make this work I'll have a car for less then 500 bucks that is cool as heck.

The rear out of the truck, IIRC, is much wider than your car.

The best axle swap for these cars is any B-body up to '70.

I used a '69 Charger rear in mine and it bolted up.

Usually you can find B-body 8 3/4 housing and axles for under $100.00.

reminder that the 65 to 67 rear end housing is the prefered interchange. the 68-70 rears are a little wider still.

I know the later b body is a better fit but like I said this is extreme budget, I want to use what I have, I guess I'll have to toss my wheels under it and measure between

So I did some measuring, the truck rear will fit fine with the high offset wheels but I did some more horsetrading and have traded some labour for a mid 80's diplomat for parts, gonna swap the front brakes and the rear axle as well as some other things(springs, shocks etc.) Going to be a pretty sweet little car when It's all put together.
