If it's an ealier unit be sure you get the pins that go inside of the posi!Other wise you'll have too much axle end play!The later style limited slip uses axle adjuster.(68-70)
There is one problem that you will have to deal with depending on the carrier. If your original 1963 carrier is a 741 open (non-Sure Grip) unit and you replace it with a 742 Sure Grip unit, you will have to modify the original axles.
The original axle is 1/16" to long. The axle can be maked and 1/16" carefully ground off on a bench grinder, taking your time about 45 minutes each axle. Reducing the length will then allow you to set the axle end play from .013" to .023".
I have made this swap myself and it worked well. I do not know if a modification has to be made when using a 741 case w/SG, or a 489 case w/SG.
