I am wondering if the 63 fury power steering box can be interchanged with a newer unit from say a 68-70 mopar muscle car,if not what are your suggest for a box rebuild or a new box, street car

I'm in the process of doing this (changing out steering box) for some other reasons on my '63. Another member put me on to a place called FirmFeel that specializes in rebuilt boxes having a firmer steering feel like newer cars. I liked that idea as the power steering is so pillowy on older cars. I spoke with one of their tech's who was helpful. Pricing as I briefly explored looked pretty reasonable.

Wow - this is a fantastic set up! And better clearance for headers. One of the reasons I didn't put headers on was the crammed left side and limited sources other than $800 TTI...

if you think of it let us know how you like the install.

Go on the Pro Touring Forum, about the third page back and find the thread by 65Roadracer, he has put a Borgeson box on his 65 Belvedere road racer...he has written articles about the box I believe as well. His feedback was my reason to go with it..

Will do, thanks.

I've had 5 upgraded boxes by Firm Feel, both stage 2 & 3. If you've got the upgraded torsion bars & good front end bushing kit, either stage box will transform your driving experience. I like the firmness & responsiveness built into their boxes. Also, Dick & his son are a pleasure to deal with. Great customer service. I had clearance issues with the ps box in my Challenger when I installed the TTI headers on the Hemi & sent Dick pics. He shaved the side of the box where needed & even clear coated it for me.
