Wombat Ranger
New Member
Hi, my name is Wombat Ranger and I like Mopars. Dad still has a '62 Fury 2dr hardtop 318 pushbutton that his grandparents bought new. I have been busy messing with Dodge pickups for the most part since I started driving, always liked old cars but never ended up with one until now.
Came across this '63 Plymouth (very similar equipped to Dad's '62) a couple years ago and started thinking I should own it. A couple months ago we made it happen.
Place I found it is a friend of mine who does restoration work. He is going to fix up the interior (stock, it's all there) and return the paint to stock red as well.
I am a bit of a manual transmission nut, everything we own up to the wife's 2019 Jeep Compass is a manual transmission. I have a brand new never been installed Getrag 238 6spd manual that I am thinking about putting in this car. They came factory in 2005-2009 dakotas and 1/2 tons, should be a nice smooth shifting box, and the ratios would go pretty well with a 2.72 rear end. Hopefully that's what's in there.
Anyway there's my new old car, thanks for having me.
