I am trying to get the dash in order on my 63 Polara 500 (originally pushbutton and still has the pushbutton plate) in order. It is a non A/C car. For the most part it is complete but up around the bottom of the windshield I am assuming there is some long piece that goes from A pillar to A pillar but that is missing, and there is a chrome "medalion" on the passenger side above the glove box but there is nothing inside of it. I am looking for pictures of a (mostly) stock Polara 500 dash so that I know what I need to find to get it all back together.

Also, unlrelated to the dash but rather than start another new thread I thought I might piece this one in here too. It is in reference to the exterior trim. I Googled "1963 Polara 500" looking for pictures of the exterior trim, and maybe it is just Google but is the Polara 500 trim special to only the "500" level? I see pictures of some Polaras with trim that takes a downward turn on the rear quarter panels following the style line in the sheet metal, and others that are like mine that ride above that style line and terminate in a wedge shaped piece of trim. These also have the giant chrome finned accent piece mounted lower on the quarter panel by the bumper. This portion of my thread is simply a "yes or no" answer as I am just curious.

I am new here, but this place is a veritable cornucopia of information and I sure am happy I stumbled upon it!

Hi there!

In reverse order..... YES the Polara 500's trim is unique to the Polara 500.
Here's some pics of our 500 showing the trim a the rear end. The front end is the same tho, so it's just the trim along the side and at the rear.

And yes there should be a long stainless/chrome (havent had ours off yet to check the material!) trim piece that goes from A-pillar to A-pillar at the base of the windshield.

Hope you can see it in this pic...

Another 'yes' to your question about the missing 'medallion'. I've got a pic somewhere but not to hand, but there should be a small rectangular badge that says 'Polara 500'. It is an almost clear/pearlescent plastic material with the Polara 500 printed in black.

I'll post a pic when I find it!

Any other pics I can help with, dont hesitate to ask as I have 100's of ours; some in unrestored and some in restored condition.

Some are already here tho, if you get a few mins to have a look:

Hi Hendo, just found these pics of that badge on the dash, above the glove box.

(they are both our dash, just look a different color to each other cos of the camera angle/lighting/flash)

Hope that helps!

That is definitely a huge help!!! Thank you for the pictures! Now I know what I need to find...that dash emblem is most likely all but IMPOSSIBLE to find.

This may help you also...

holy crap that blue interior is identical to mine! WOW those colors sure do pop! unfortunately the interior in my polara looks much much much worse than that in yours. I too went with black carpet, but my seats, dash, and door panels are all totally F*&$ed up. Do you mind if I ask who did the door panels for you? I wish I could mount my tach down where yours is but I have a pistol grip 4 speed in mine so that makes it a no-go. What a great looking interior...I am so super jealous right now!

Also, I just noticed...I have my seatbelts bolted up basically reverse of what you have. Mine arent original to the car as they came out of my 66 chrysler, but they are the same blue color. I mounted mine as I took them out of the 66 Chrysler Newport meaning the short side with the "male" end is on the outside and the long "female side" is on the inside. The ones I took out of the Chrysler have a large plastic housing with a spring loaded mechanism on the short side and I am guessing that is not correct on a 63?
