On my 65 Belvedere 1 rear window there was a long foam gasket or seal under the lower stainless molding it is in fair shape does anyone repop it or have you left it out.

I can’t remember if mine had foam under the rear glass trim. One my glass guy put the rear glass him he just used silicone on all the holes and all the threads on the screws he said we had to use silicone because water would follow those threads and drip into the trunk. Good luck

Or you can use 3M strip caulk. That's what we used on every body bolt/screw etc. when we assembled our 65.

The foam is there to prevent the crevice from colleting dirt. I reused mine but the can be recut from a like density foam.

It was on my 64 and I cut one from some white foam packing sheet. I agree with the statement that water will run down the screws and they need some sealer to stop that.

The purpose of the wedge shaped foam is to keep trash(leaves, dirt, etc)from collecting under the trim. I cut a new one from a piece of heavy foam packing material. I used Sonneborn NP1 caulking around all screws.
