Does this look like the right oil pan for my 64 Dodge 330? I thought I had the old big block oil pan to compare it to but now it's gone.

The sump starts around 6" from the front rail (sump is 9" long 7' deep) and then 9" from the back rail.

Thanks very much, I think it's right just need to know now instead of when I lower it into my car!

Thanks for the very helpful link, that is great information. Thanks.

oil pan

good link.
The clue on your pan is the deep section at the end of pan (stage left) that is typical of a C body pan, and should create a clearance issue for center link.
Also the lower corner, where the steering arm would touch is too close or deep on a C pan.

talk to you later.

I think I have seen that Milodon one Bill. I like that brand they make good stuff but that particular oil pan is pretty deep at 7.75". Does it hang pretty far below the k Frame? Thanks.

I have that oil pan on my '65. It hangs pretty low and the center link had to be modified as it was just touching.

Hey Wedgie- thanks for the picture. Do you know if that is the original Moroso 20760 or the version where they supposedly modified the design to fit in the 62-65s?

It does look pretty low but hey at least there aren't any scary scrapes on it!

It is the latest and greatest supposed to fit '62-'65. The centerlink mod wouldn't be necessary if you shim the mounts a bit, but I like the extra clearance. It does hang lower than the K member though. I have to watch speed bumps.

Here are some pics of a reproduction six quart pan for a '62-'65 B body. Note how shallow the front and rear sections are in addition to the unique sump. The pre '66 B bodies set the engine further forward than the later models.

Ah yes I think that is the repro max wedge pan. I forgot about that one. I remeber it being pretty pricey but I'll check into that one. Thanks again for all the info- much appreciated.

Do you know where that repo pan is available from? Can't seem to find it

There was recently one on ebag for $899.00. Check with Mancini also.

Schumacher

Schumacher makes a pan for that swap. I have one for my 65 Coronet. I bought their entire kit, motor mounts, tranny mount, pan and pickup. I is made to put a 440 in a 318 wide block car. You can just buy the pan and it is made just a 1/4 inch shallower in the back to clear the steering link and just slightly shaped in the front so you don't have to modify the k member.
Around 200.00 bucks if I remember correctly.
cheers
Steve

Sounds great I'll check into it. Thanks for the good advice!

Just checked Shumacher's site and didn't see one listed. Maybe I'm a dumb *** and missed something, but I checked both the oil pan section and the swap sections and no pan listed. How many quarts of capacity is this pan? As I gather parts for the 440,I want to make sure that I'm getting the correct pan with extra capacity and a decent level of clearance(I will be running a taller-26-27"-front tire).

I called Shumacher this morning and all they can special order is the mopar "971" pan. That is the factory 73-78 B Body pan which they say will fit. Summit sells that pan for $150 I think if you want to try it. After looking at some pictures I am not sure it would fit a 62-64 but probably a 65. I think this pan is a 5qt capacity.
