I installed my dash today, made all the necessary connections . I figured I'd try to just turn the engine over.

Connected the battery, turned the ignition switch on and noticed the amp gauge drop a little so I figured all right! But I also heard a noise that sounded sort of like an electric fuel pump but then it stopped. BTW, it doesn't have one. So then I turn the switch to the start position and nothing, although the amp gauge did show even more of a draw so that must be working alright.

I have to study the service manual. The car came partially wired and I also did some of the wiring. I'm going to mess with it again tomorrow. All the connections seem to be tight.

I know this is a shot in the dark but does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,I would start with a test light at the starter relay and see if you have power in the right place and the signal for the start mode.:usa2:

Well found out what this problem was. The starter relay needed a ground. Works great now! :icon_axe:
