'64 engine compartment colors

I'm in the process of sprucing up my 64 Fury Conv. (unmodified). It sports the original Poly 318/2bbl carb motor. The motor still has its red paint but the air cleaner cover and valve cover breather are painted gold. The only photos I have seen have the air cleaner painted black. Which is correct? If black, glossy, semi gloss or crinkle finish?. I doubt it makes a difference but the car is also equipped with air, power steering, and power brakes.

Excellent picture! Took me back to my first 64 Dodge at 16 years old. And looking at the poly wondering how can I get more power out of this bad boy!
