Looking for sources for gas tank for a '64. Many on-line vendors show a 15 gal tank, which we all know is not correct. Any suggestions?? Thanks

My question is why is everyone selling the 15 gallon tank and not the OEM 19.9 gallon?

I bet I put a 15 gallon in my 65 Coronet without even checking it.

Been thru about 8 or so websites tonight, all show the same 15 tank, but each have their own P/N's. Gotta be China's finest. Just bought the car, has E-10 gas in it with water phase separation. I pumped out the and the suction hose was covered with rust residue, as was the inside of the carb. The P.O. had the tank replaced in 2016. I am about tempted to take the existing tank to the local shop that does tank repair and sealing.Waiting list plus about $350.

Tanks are made by Spectra, in Stratford, Ontario. I suspect that 15 gallon that is specified is Canadian Imperial Gallon. 15 Imp. gal. = 20 U.S. gal. I bought one from RockAuto, and it was identical to the old original one. I think they are still less than $200, brand new.

I put a spectra in my '62, was the same size as the original, used the spectra pickup/sending unit and lock ring, no leaks and it all worked perfectly.

Looks like you all solved that one for me! I wrote down the dimensions of the "15" gal tank and was going to measure mine tonight, but you saved the trouble. I see there is also a stainless steel version, I believe I may go with that. Thanks again.
