Anyone with a 64 Plymouth, have one of the optional glovebox lights installed? The owner's manual mentions it, but no details, and don't find it in the parts book.
Have a good idea what the button switch looks like...have a nicely rusted one. But, nothing on the light socket itself, or where it mounts.

There was one on my dodge that was basically a small socket light bulb on a bracket. I haven't put it in yet and can take a pic if you want. It may not be original though and the switch for it doesn't seem right to me but it worked fine.

The socket pushes into the upper left corner of the glove box frame!
That was suppose to be upper right corner! Had a dyslexic moment!

figured as much. What do they look like?
It is a black plastic socket apx. 1.5" long, with a small ring clip and short pink wire. Should have a opaque white strip stapled to the outside of the glove box

Hey, Steve, any chance that white strip is on the right side of the glovebox? On mine, there's a oblong hole on the right side wall.
Heck, I've got so many oddball light sockets, might have the right one.

Just a sideline note. Seems on some of the interior lights, differences between Plys and Dodges.
Just like the Dodge light for the heater buttons. On at least some Plymouths, it's the clock light, that also puts light through a built in 'window', part of the gauge lens piece, and lights the heater buttons.
Also have a trunk light, that I'll mount up, later.

Thanks for the help, guys!

Yes that is the opening for the light!

Appreciate the photo, Steve!

Yup, looks like the same one I have, but not near that good of shape. The black sleeve is gone, and the back end is rusted. I'll check it out.

I lied! Plastic sleeve is there. The 'rusted' back end, was actually what was left of the busted light bulb. Pulled it out, and the light socket is good as new...so, the bulb itself goes in the backside of the housing.
Cut pink wire about 10" long, so by Steve's photo, an easy fix.
