My brother has been hoarding this car for over 25 years and gave it to me last year! Now it's a brother/sister rehab project! We're going through systems and now at brakes. Car was an old bracket racer and not stock, systems with all different mixes of assorted parts now on it. We are putting a 440 engine in, starting over getting new brake system parts. 9" power booster now in it (from 1963 year car(?)is getting rebuilt now), got 1" bore new dual master to install and adding proportioning valve. It has the 11"/3" drum hubs on all 4's which we want to keep. It has 1 1/8" diameter front wheel cylinders we're replacing with the same, and 3" shoes we also are getting on front. Our confusion is on rear brakes now on it. It now has 2 1/2" rear shoes with 15/16 wheel cylinders. According to service book, police hubs should have 13/16 rear wheel cylinders with 2 1/2" shoes. I can't find 13/16" cylinders (mine are not in condition to rekit.) Am I going to be OK with getting the 15/16" rear wheel cylinders instead of the 13/16" ? Disc brake conversion is but a dream at this point. Thanks in advance.

64 polara brakes

I am also restoring a 64 dodge that came with 11 inch rear brakes. although the parts book lists 13/16 wheel cyl mine came with 15/16 and if you look close a footenote in the parts book shows this change. I believe the early 64s came with 13/16 and was changed sometime in the model year 15/16 should not hurt
