How is the radio and bezel mounted? What supports the weight of the radio and are the nuts what hold the bezel on? I did some searching on old forums and didn't really find what I was looking for.

I had mine out recently to replace it with a Retro Sound unit. The bezel is held on with the radio shaft nuts and the left tab tucks behind the adjacent dash bezel. When I removed my radio, nothing other than the shaft nuts were supporting the radio. I don't remember if the radio also rested against the bottom metal of dash as it tucks back in towards the firewall. May have been something missing as the radio has been replaced before I had the car.

There is a strut rod that also attaches to the back of the radio and attaches to dash frame to keep radio steady.

Thanks. It seemed like that was way too much weight for the bezel to be supporting the whole radio. Hopefully I can find that rod in the parts bucket

64sleeper was able to locate and install the radio support rod and kind enough to send me some pics of it so i could see the part i was also missing. Does anyone have one of these rods for sale?, i also started WTB ad for one, thanks.
