64 savoy lower ball joint replacement

Can you guys shed some light on a lower ball joint replacement.....it's a 64 plymouth.....im pretty handy but never tackled one of these.....should I try it or leave it to a professional......i have the part.......it's the drivers side......wheels got some slop........thx
 
You can probably do it but I would strongly recomment one of these:

I purchased one years ago and it has come in handy on everything from ball joints to tie rods.
 
Do yourself a favor and replace both passenger side and drivers side at the same time. I would also be looking hard at all the rest of the bushings and upper ball joints too. With front suspension components I have found when one is worn out others are not far behind.
