I decided to start a thread for my build:

'65 Belvedere II 4 Dr.
Slant Six, 904, 2.76.

Turbo Plan:
J pipe to holset wh1c turbo to intercooler
Super six aluminum intake manifold with holley 2300 blow thru carb
O-ringed block, copper head gasket.

Suspension Plan:
SS leafs, /6 T-bars, poly bushings all around.

Interior:
No headliner, no rear bench, no rear door panels, removed sound deadening.
Plastic buckets, custom gauge panel, no glovebox, no heater assembly.

Lightening Up:
10 Gallon fuel cell, no wiper assembly, no wiper fluid assembly, light wheels, no front/rear bumpers.

I'll be updating this every week or so.

It should be an interesting build. I slant 6 does make a lot of torque and I had one in a Duster years ago that did 13.9 in the quarter with not a whole lot done to the motor.

When you get the turbo on that motor post pics as I would love to see the mods. You going to due forge pistons? Do you know what the compression ratio you will be running yet?

Thomas

nice 65 its cool to see another slant 6 B-Body on here..heres my 67 Coronet 440 HT. /6 3 on the tree...God Bless.Bear R.-.

Just stock pistons, compression is going to be around 7.5. The copper head gasket will do the trick. Lots of guys just run low comp and lots of boost on stock internals. Thats a nice Coronet! I love those wheels.

Cool. Keep the pics coming. I would like to see the build step by step. My friend and I discussed turbos and I thought about maybe doing that to my 273.

Just uploading some pictures!

I'm running a single headlight and taillight to a toggle switch, and then my interior light and gauge lights on a separate one. Plan is to remove as much stuff as possible to keep it light and simple. Gauges I'm running are oil, temp, ammeter, tach, boost, and wideband afr. No speedo. Just ordered complete poly suspension bushing set along with new ball joints as well. Picking up a freshly rebuilt slant this weekend.

This is going to be a fun build to watch. Keep the pics coming. :)

That will be nice. A slant 6 with a turbo. I'd like to see the look on the other guys face when you beat them to the finish line and they look under your hood and realize what kicked their a$$.

ahh the kiss principle at it's best. I would love too see some pics of the engine tear down and build as well.

Thomas

That's coming in about a month, just got poly bushings front to back from summit, seats in, and some other stuff done. Should have pics in a couple days.

Sorry for the slacking fbbo, fell off of a cliff while riding trails on my bike a little bit ago ruined my body quite a bit. So things on the car are going slow. I keep meaning to put pictures up, but never do. I ordered a power to manual steering adapter from firm feel today, and got c-body tie rods and sleeves in today. When I get the steering and suspension finished up I throw a couple pics on.

Got some goodies, and thanks to moparmark for sending the strut rods.
Should have it all on by Sunday. Also got front and rear sway bars off of my dads friend for free,
on the condition that when Im done with them, hand them down to someone else instead of selling
them. Next up is ordering SS springs and getting the rear end and tranny built. March 2014 is when
Im aiming to get her done by.

Got a seat out of an s10 and fit it in tonight, it's actually a nice seat! Also, ordered super stock springs tonight, the 3800 lb ones.

Got sway bars for nothing off of my dads friend on the condition that I have to use them, and when I'm finished with them to hand them to another person in need. Front is 1.18 inch, rear is 0.78 inch.

Can't say ive seen alot of talk about modifying the slant 6 for sleeper power. gotta commend you on being outside the box

very cool...my father in law used to build /6 he did a 13 to 1 and a few others all in 4 doors...he always said he wanted to do a turbo but by that time he was to old...if he was alive he would be all over this thing...
