It appears that I need to remove/replace the heater core on my 65 Belvedere II. From looking at the 65 Plymouth Shop Manual you have to tear into the heater box under the dash. Any suggestions or tricks/tips before I start?

Take pics underneath your dash before you start. You'll have to disconnect some cables and connectors before everything comes out. Be careful when removing the heater hoses that go through your dash. Lots of times they get frozen onto the heater core tubes.

one trick I found that is quite useful is to remove your passenger seat, that way you will have lots of room to strech out and reach up under the dash to get at the heater box.

It's time consuming, but a piece of cake. When I did mine I bought some "window trim foam" with adhesive on one side & I re-sealed all the components together & the heater box to the firewall (all places where stock gaskets go) and my blower "feels" like a good 10%-20% harder blowing than before (without the air leaks in the heater box).

Also, I just like to cut the ends of the heater hoses & replace them. The whole job is actually pretty easy.
