I have a rebuilt small block auto trans, cable shift, slip yoke that I am not going to use for my '65 Satellite, putting in a big block instead. Questions: 1)am I correct in understanding that a cable shift, slip yoke is unique to '65, and 2) what is it worth? Any help appreciated.

I put up a small blockfor sale 318 out of a 68 Satellite backed up bay a cable shift that is still in my car and runs and drives perfect.
Not even one question. So I would say not much.

The tailshaft is really the only thing that is of value! It will fit the b block 63-64 trans. to get rid of the ball & trunion drive line. some of the internal parts will work also

The tail shaft and output shaft will convert any 63-64 BB trans to a 65. You could get a 63-64 BB case and install your rebuilt guts, 1 hr job at most.

I have 65 Big Block push button cores or rebuilds.

My bb core is currently being fitted with my sb guts. I think the only difference is the front pump. I wish i could find a 65 tail shaft but they're scarce.

You need the shaft and tail housing. Front pumps are the same between small and big block. A newer 1967 and up pump and input shaft can be retro fitted to allow the use of currently available converters.

My 65 Dart GT had cable shift and ball and trunion.
I had no idea there was a weird halfway combination!
