65 cornet post sedan tail light housing resto questions

so, im dissembling my tail light housings so i can get them re-chromed.

my car was a poor mans sedan, and it was tail light delete.

it looks like the block off plates were painted black, but im not sure if this was a rattle can job or OE,

if anyone knows for sure chime in so i can do this right, and if anyone has a source for the gaskets,

drop a name or two, thanks!

I have had a set or 2 of these backup delete plates and they were all clear anodized. Nothing black about them. I also make them out of fiberglass and are good sellers.

I've never seen them painted either. I have a nice orig pair for my Dodge, and have seen a few others.
The tailight bezels have been reproduced, might want to look at those before rechroming yours costwise. You will lose some detail having yours plated.

I don't think I've seen the gasket by themselves.
