65 Dodge coronet Exhaust

Hello everyone. Im new here.

My uncle owns a 65 dodge coronet 500 w/ a 383 and has it sitting under a garage. I like to work on stuff, and Im only 16 so he thought it would be a good learning experience..

Anyway, I took off the old exhaust pipes and we're looking for a set of new ones. Were looking for a complete set of pipes that will fit the car without any or very minor modifications.

I found a set online on eBay, but their for a 68-70 coronet.

Could anyone tell me whether these will fit, or where I can get a complete exhaust system / kit?? Not looking for a muffler or catalytic converter.

Even though it sez for 68 on up, it may fit, but you would think Flow Master would know if it does, right. Since it is not listed, I'd say no, it will not fit.

That car did not come with a cat nor did cars come with cats until the mid 70's.

It looks like thats what they do is make exhaust systems for mopars.. thats awesome! haha

The 65 dodge coronet is indeed a B body car right? Im pretty sure but not positive :rolling:

TTI will hook you up and it will bolt right in, bad news, very pricey.

Yes, they are a bit pricey. My dad got a 3" stainless kit for his 65 coronet and I think it was $800 ish. It fit nice and looks nice though.

Another option is to find a local muffler shop - if you take them the old pipes they might be able to make a new system for your car. Summit Racing has a stainless system for 66-up B-Body cars for $400, maybe you can call them and see what they have that might fit a 65.

Thats what we're considering doing. We have the old pipes.. and 740$ for a full kit from TTi w/ two exhaust tips + whatever shipping is very expensive...
