65 drive shaft

need some help... will a drive shaft from a 65 318 poly with a automatic transmission work for a newer style transmission (72).
 
Here is a real test for those who really know their cars. No 'will fit' assumptions allowed.
65 slip yokes, and only 65, have a tiny vent hole drilled in back of the yoke. This is because the 65 trans has an oil seal on rear of the shaft. Using the 65 slip on a 66 and up trans, brings up the likelyhood of leaking atf out the vent hole.

If it is an original 65 driveshaft, it should have particular value to a 65 owner.

Here is another test,this is a 65 cable shift transmission,what about this slip yoke with U bolts,and it wasn't drilled??
 
It will if the 1965 Tranny is a 727.The yoke that is, the length may not be right..............................MO
