The GOOD:
Nice solid base car.
Runs and shifts smoothly.
Minor body work needed.
Clear/Clean title.

The BAD:
The floor pans are shot, and patched quickly.
Interior is stripped completely. (Have original front and rear seats, and most trim)

I bought this car with the inspiration to have fun a couple years and then do a resto on it to make it a driver. Well that was many projects and 2 kids ago…… It’s time for me to move on and let this one go. Hopefully someone else can get to enjoy it.

The previous owner stripped everything to turn it into a drag machine. They pulled the original 383 and all trim and panels. They did put a strong 440 and upgrade the converter (higher stall). It was raced quarter mile until interest was lost. The car starts and runs. But it hasn't been raced/road (legally) driven in 12+ years since I bought it. The engine feels really strong still. It has been under a roof since then, and only started 1-2 times annually and occasionally driven down my private road.

I started to collect misc parts at various swap meets, and they all go with the sale of this. I have a probably 75% of trim pieces. I have original dash parts, and some nicer pieces I found at swaps. The body has some minor dents and scratches. The major area is the left front fender. I did find a replacement fender, a nicer bumper, and other parts that will make the repair easy.

I had the vin/tag decoded by Galen, to get an idea of where I want to go on the resto. Basically it was a 383 w/ auto and had options like (rare) A/C, power windows, tach, am/fm, etc. Still have Galen full documentation that comes with car.

Please PM or post up any questions or comments.

No bites yet? i thought someone would be interested in this one, Doesn't look to bad at all.. Frame rails, torsion frame crossover and everything good on it? Is any of the dash in it or was it taken out to race as well..

I've had a few bites from this forum, just in PM form.... But no one from here has came to get it, or see it yet. :(

The car has amazing potential to race or restore. Which is the main reason I own it. I fell in love with the lines of this old B-body when I first saw it in the previous owners garage stuck in the back corner.....

The previous owner did do some frame stiffners to connect the front and rear subframes (since this is a unibody car). But the unibody (minus floorpans) and subframes are solid. There is one little 2-3" section on the front passenger subframe that I was going to address, but didn't know if I might go crazy on the resto so I held off.

The "dash" is there. Just not any of the cluster, radio, or glove box. I have an original cluster and a better replacement plastic for it. I have a nice radio cover part, and a nice glove box "lid." So it could be put back together easily. I was gathering parts for this over the years at various swap meets.

I was figuring I would get more "mopar" interested ppl in this.

Well, Im sure with this added information it should help some. It looks like a very workable project car, race car to but I like the body style of the 65, the biggest thing seems anymore is the money end.. Ive been trying to collect enough for another project car i had/have in my mind, im finding it hard to do lately and even selling parts is getting hard. Good luck with it.

Yeah I agree it's not a good time to be a seller..... hopefully it works out. Guess if not, I'll just have to garage it for more time. Starting and moving a 440 sure gets you thinking to what this car can do, it's been very tempting this last couple weeks to tear into.

I wanted to add that I updated pictures in the photobucket album (link above) of most of the undercarriage. I have been getting numerous PMs about it. Sorry for duplicate pics, and the high res images on the first post, but I wanted to make sure ppl get a clear idea of what they are looking at. Check out the photobucket album for 20-30 pics.

Also another common question is rear axle. I do not know the gears or if it's sure grip. I would gamble it has the sure grip, but i cannot say for sure. The casting on the side of the case is 2881489 (see pic in album). So I guess that means it has the "nicer" 489 casting rear housing/dropout. PM me or post up any other questions or comments.

Did you sell the old girl??

The car sold on Friday.
A local person drove by and saw it, then brought a check for the price listed. Sounded like he knew his mopars so I hope it goes to a good home.

Thanks for all the interest from the site, and all the information ppl gave when they contacted me.

Great news! Almost a relief, of course now you may know what i was thinking lol... :)
