The problem is the length or "throat".
They are the speed nuts, clip nuts, j-nuts, tinnerman nuts, spring clips, etc. etc, etc.
The originals used like a number 6 flat head screws to be flush with the stainless trim there.
I've been looking on line for a while now.
All short stuff.
I could use some thing else like fender washers and plain nuts with machine screws.
But it is sort of hard to get too.
Any sources?

One of the problems is how close that number 6 screw hole is to the top of the clip.
And I'm thinking that is the screw is bigger than a number 6 the flat head screw won't be flush with the chrome trim.
The car body hole they go in is big and far from the metal edge.
I got frustrated last weekend trying to use a machine screw and a nut and figured I would try something else.

OK, 2 more thoughts (worth what you paid for them of course):
- there are sets of fasteners available for interior, exterior, bumpers, etc. I bought an interior set yrs
ago that had like 13 or more baggies of specific area trim screws. will look for source.
- our car has windows out too so will check what the screws look like, if I find any.

Thanks.
I've struck out with directly contacting two major suppliers of fasteners
I'm on my way to Lowes/Depot and look at electrical fasteners.
My brain tells me there may something I can modify and use in the electrical J box stuff....maybe.
I'm not above using used ones is someone is parting out.:BangHead:
I've got 4 of the original one's that weren't rusted into pieces that I'm going to reuse already.

I think I have the trim pieces, but not the fasteners.

I don't think the fasteners exist.
I posted out of desperation and to give others a hint of this.
I used stainless fender washers, machine screws and nuts with a little polyurethane for keeping the nuts from shaking off.
Yea, I could have used lock nuts. But less fighting in the tight area.
I was able to save one or two of the tinnerman and reuse them in the upright area.
That would have been impossible to get behind it.
And then there is the fuzzy.
Chrysler must have had a machine to put the staples in.
What a PITA!.
