Does anyone still carry them? All I can find is the 69 & up 3-prong switch.

If no one carries them, has anyone got a good used one?

Thanks!

carb parts needed and neutral saftey switch 166.JPG

It is. I think I took those pictures at a meet in Westwood mass in early 80's.

Hey Dickie, I think I have a few of them. ill check and get back to you

nevermind. the box says neutral safety, but its actually an oil pressure switch.

Yup, that's in front of my parent's house in 1986. Apparently, you followed me home. I still have that license plate.
Now I'm not sure I took them, maybe you gave them to me? I don't think I followed you home? They've been on my garage wall for years. Had trouble pulling the tack out of wall. Tip of tacks rusted and drywall suck to the metal. In PM I should have re-read it what poor grammar, oh man.

Are you guys referring to the neutral safety switch or reverse light switch?

Just the neutral safety switch, single threaded pin. They changed later to 3 pin with I assume backup lights. I never owned a car with 3 pin so what I know is limited.

I thought the neutral switch was on the steering column and the reverse switch was on the transmission. You can correct me if I am wrong.

I don't know about column shifter cars at all. I have a console shift auto and it has switch on shifter for reverse lights. Think they changed to the three pin in 68? The wire on the single pin I think goes to starter relay.

OK. I was getting the switches mixed up, which ones that were reverse and neutral safety.

On 68 column shift car had the b/u switch on the bottom of the column near the firewall & on a console shift car, the switch was located on the shifter mechanism. I'm no expert, on earlier cars, but I believe that 66-67 cars were set up the same way. The 3-pin switch started in 1969.

Speaking of neutral safety/backup light switches, will one from a 904 work in a 727? I am having a 1967 727 installed in my factory 904 equipped 1969 Sport Satellite and the question has come up about interchangeability. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
