Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked before, but I came across a nice deal on a set of brand new magnum 500's. The rears are 15x8 with 4.5 backspace running 235/60/15 Cobra's. I currently have 15x7's with 245/60/15's and there is hardly any clearance. I haven't measured the backspace on my current rim, but I think it is 4.25. Do you think the 15x8's will work with the narrower tire? or maybe even the 245's? it's a great deal for the whole package and I'm determined to see if they'll work. ;)

Thanks,
G$

My car is a 69 so may not be the same but I have 7" from the wheel flange to the fender (that would be touching). Check it, it only takes a few minutes just pull your wheel off and lay a straight edge (ruler or square) flat across the wheel mounting area running up and down and measure how far back it is to the fender. Take into account any humps that it may hit and a little clearance (1" would be good) and that's what you can fit. Mine is 7"in and 7" out (zero backspacing minus clearance). Hope this helps

i will do some more measuring... but i believe 68+ is different than 66-67 b body.

thx,
G$

The 66 Belvedere body is tight. I currently have 15x7 OEM MoPar steelies and they are 4.25" BS. No problems at all. I tried a buddies 15x8 Magnums with a 4.75" BS and they also fit but that's the limit. It's my best guess that 15x8 with a 4.25" BS will not work.
