Hello Everyone, I looked at a 1966 Belvedere Wagon today that I am probably going to buy. My question is do you think there is any interest in someone wanting this as a builder or would it be more of a parts car? The car is all there with the exception of the engine and transmission and was a 273 car automatic. The body is very solid but will need both quarter panels replaced from previous poor repairs and minor collision damage (a nice set of quarters come with the car). The interior is all there and pretty nice. The car is not rusty at all and the exterior trim is all intact and nice. All the glass is very nice. I normally buy cars to part out but am hesitant to part this car as it would be a really good starting point for a builder. Also, there is no title for the car.
Thanks for your opinions on this, Steve

Well sounds like a neat car and there is a lot of interest in Wagons, B body wagons especially. Pictures would help get you some feedback by about 1000%.

what color interior?

what options?

also, what's rules in AR for getting a title ... that could be a problem to buyers from some states

Hello, the car is white with a red interior. The important wagon only parts and trim are all there and all the headliner cross trims and cardboard headliner itself is very nice. It is a factory power brake, power steering, a/c car as well. It has a very nice grille, tail lights, even the tailgate is not rusted out.
As far as getting a title, it will take some time and would cost several hundred dollars but I can get one. I would prefer to not mess with a title if possible as I do not know if the car will sell for enouth to justify the time and expense.
I may be able to get some pictures early next week and I will post them here then.
Thanks, Steve

Parts car!!! Really? The title seems like the only issue with what you've described so far. Build it, you won't be sorry.

The best way to find out is to try to sell it first.

Hello, I already have a project car so I personally will not be building it. The worst part of the car is the fact it will need the quarters replaced. The good thing is that there are 2 really nice full quarters that go with the car. I will post some pictures here as soon as I can (probably Monday or Tuesday). I really hate to see this car parted out as I know so many were and good builders are getting hard to find.
Thanks, Steve

if i were in the market for a project, what you just rattled off there would have piqued my interest even more ... esp the red interior since you already said it was very nice. i could see A4 sliver/gray, white or black exterior with the Red interior, and a 4 speed with buckets in it's future.

well post some pics then when you can and name a price :)

Too nice from your description to part out IMO. Maybe get the title thing squared away then try to flip it? Or build it yourself.

Hello Everyone, I finally got some pictures to post. I was mistaken when I said this was a 273 car. It is actually a 361 big block car. The passenger side quarter was replaced decades ago but really does not look that bad and may be OK. The driver side quarter is hit in the rear but may be easier to repair than replace. The car looks really solid with only very minor rust in the floors in a couple of places. There is also several NOS pieces that come with the car such as tail light lenses and one quarter extension. Also, the trim that is off the car is all inside and is nice.
One thing I neglected to mention is this car is the one that was owned by Arvid Svendsen and is mentioned several times in his new Mopar Big Block rebuild book. He got this car from Jim Hale and then traded it back to Jim after the book was published. I have already made a deal with Jim and will be bringing the car to may shop next week.
I have decided to sell this car as a builder as it would be a real shame to part it out especially since it has a history with a couple of fairly well known Mopar people.
I have attached a few pictures.
Thank you all for your opinions and taliking me into not cutting this car up.
Steve

Thanks for the pics and I hope somebody buys it and documents whatever they do with it here on FBBO!

Hello, I have just listed this car in the for sale section and I hope if finds a good home!
Thanks, Steve

Build it as a street/strip car. Stuff the family in it, pair of slicks, toolbox, grill, chairs, cooler and one of those portable canopies and head to the track. Its it's own support car.

Hello Everyone, I have just sold this car to a fellow FABO Member and he will be restoring it. I hope he shows the resto here on the forum.
Thank you to everyone who responded.
Steve

Glad it sold! Would of hated hearing you parted it out.
