anyone happen to have an rb in their 66-67 charger or coronet with m1 intake?

I want my non year appropriate air cleaner to fit under the stock hood of my 66 charger.

RB (512)
M1 intake (single plane)
Quick fuel 950
Morison steel mounts on Schumacher plates

I mocked it up. Excuse the filth I will paint the intake turquoise and have the air cleaner powder coated wrinkle black once I know it'll work.

Also want to use 1/2 nitrous plate but may not get away with it.

First one is with the base

Second pic is no base with the bottom the top air cleaner piece sitting on the carb float bowl vents.

Still don't have block back from machinist and no rb engines at home garage.

Anyone have any kind of measurement s for reference?

I'm not using a different carb or air cleaner but maybe give up the nitrous plate or mill the intake

Likely zero chance. I have a 67 Charger, no scoop. Low deck, and I had an M1 and an Indy, but went with Holley Street Performer because of the clearance. You only have to dimple your hood once or twice before that gets tired (once for me). I opted for the stockish appearance. Other choice is a backup hood w/scoop (not a bad idea!) or a very low clearance filter/cleaner. Please be careful, it's really tight. HSP are hard to find now, but not expensive if you find one.

Anxious to hear any follow up as well, using 400 in 66 Charger and researching heads etc w manifold for assured clearance, fortunately I do have extra hoods, but want to keep stock in that area. Have seen many scoops I do like so not an absolute No-NO

No scoop for me no matter what. I'll put a 318 back in it before that.

If anyone ever decides to go with a factory style scoop on their Charger, I make the original size R-O / W-O scoop and I also have another scoop that looks almost identical to original but is 1/2-3/4 inch lower. I sell a lot of the lower scoops to the Charger crowd and they love them. I have studs hanging down for e-z mounting and a stud in the center of the opening also. I am Sled City Fiberglass and you can reach me at www.sledcityfiberglass.com or [email protected].

Not sure of the measurements on an M1, I googled it and came up with nothing. If its as tall as a Performer RPM it will not fit with the stock air cleaner. I have a 440 with an RPM. Had to get a drop base and get creative with the factory kickdown linkage. Would like to get a scoop.
