what is the safest way to swap out the gauge lenses w/o destroying the bezel?

I think the best way is to use a small cutting disc on a dremo tool to carefully skim off the the mushroomed top of the pins and try not to get into the lens itself. That way you have plenty of pin to locate the lens when reinstalled. But, I’ll be interested in what others say.
