Hi guys, as the thread title suggests, I have patched the floor pans of my 66 Satellite, but don't know where to drill the holes for the Accelerator Pedal. I've thrown out the old rusty bit which had the holes in, and want to get the angle right for the pedal. Anyone happen to have a 66 or 67 Belvedere or Satellite with no interior in it that they could measure the distance, perhaps from the central beam that runs across the car between the front and back seats? I've tried pre-fitting the pedal but because of the bolts moulded into the rubber base, I can't get a true position once the pedal is fitted and the bolts slipped through the holes. The 3/4" bolt length throws out the angle so it's hard to judge. I just don't want to drill holes in my new sheetmetal in the wrong place....
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Try making a template out of cardboard from the pedal. With the cutouts for the bolts, you should be able to mark where to drill right on the floor pan.

yeah that sounds like a good idea. I was thinking along these lines and did make a piece out of wood, but it hasn't got the rubber toe so didn't really help me. Cardboard would be the way to go as you say, as I could bend the bottom to form the toe and drill holes in the cardboard where the bolts would go. Thank you for the advice.

I can probably measure my 66 Coronet. Will try do do that this weekend.

Thanks for the offer mate, but I've just drilled them - made the template out of cardboard and all done in about 10 minutes! Thanks for all the help guys.
