Anyone out there know where you can get a water pump for a 67 belvedere 383--don't want aftermarket if I can help it.
Thanks, Carol

Doubt a dealer would have any NOS pumps for a big block if that's what you are wanting but pumps from the aftermarket are mainly rebuilt units using stock pump cores....

You'll just have to hit swap meets and fleabay for old crusty original housings. If you find a suitable core and want to rebuild your own I have new seals and bearing/shaft assemblies very reasonably priced. Or I can rebuild your core. PM me for details.

Thanks, I will let you know, may be a good idea to rebuild the origional.
Carol

Is there a part number on the original pump insert? I know the pump housing has one but it's been so long since I've changed out an original insert, I can't remember!

Can we clarify what it is exactly you are looking for? The H20 pump is the Housing that bolts to the block. Lots of them are available in the eBag and other sites in both aluminum and the cast steel. Now if it is the "Impeller", the part that bolts to the front of the H2O housing, then they are readily available from most parts houses as well as the internet. I believe the MOPAR parts counters at the dealers can find one for you as well. I have an original Old Stock housing and Impeller combo for sale if there is an interest...Good luck in your search though...cr8crshr/Tuck

Never heard a parts house call a pump the impeller. The pump housing is just that and is not a pump. If you want to get technical, you can call the impeller part a rotating element because it contains the bearing housing, shaft, bearing, seal and impeller and you plug the assembly into the pump housing. When you buy a new pump, you get the rotating element :D Now what 'mom' calls the parts may be another story. :icon_anal:

Just going by the FSM and parts book is all. The rotating assembly is the Impeller...the part with the fins that causes cavitation of the H2O as it is routed through the Pump housing...which is the whole H2O pump I guess. Just Old School here when I explain some things but I have always called the rotating assembly an Impeller and most parts houses I go to know what I am talking about...just my 2 cents:toothy10:
