So I obtained my grandfathers 67 charger that's been sitting around for probably 20 years. I know there are some rust problems, not sure of the extent yet. Gonna need to rebuild the engine. And minor interior repair. I have no experience with restoring vehicles, let alone very little knowledge of vehicle repair at all. So with the help of friends and the Internet I want to fix this Beauty up.

Nice car indeed! :) Good luck with it! ;) What motor in it?

Welcome it will take some work but will be worth it when it's done

Nice start! Just remember that everyone started with a first car at some point...
and welcome!!!
I'm assuming by your handle you are a veteran, just want to say thank you for your service!

Love the car, don't see to many running around or at the shows. What's the plan, stock, minor upgrades like wheels and tires or are you going crazy on it? Start off with buying a factory service manual, very helpful and unlike todays manuals they go into a great bit more detail. Good luck

Thanks! And yes currently 5 years in, chipping away at my retirement with the National Guard.

As much as I would love to go crazy with it, I'm on a pretty tight budget, so probably just minor upgrades. My grandfather took pretty good care of it even though it sat for so long. But he still has the manual which will be a huge help. Been watching a bunch of YouTube videos, and I should be able to do a lot by myself. Engine and electronics I will need help with.

if you go to the 66-67charger.com forum, you'll find lotsa info in The Resource Guide section.

also, many of us 1st gen owners have bits and pieces laying around so don't be bashful checking for parts vs repro sources.

and good luck and have fun with your project.

Nice project! If the engine is original or the right year I'd really consider using it or at least keep it stored somewhere, if it's not worthless/broken.
