As everyone that has been around for a while knows, I built this car a couple of years ago and have offered it for sale here numerous times. $27,500 seemed like a very reasonable price, and I often wondered why it hadn't sold. This was a project I specifically did to resell, so there has never been any personal attachment to it. It has sat for quite a while without much interest. Recently I thought, maybe I'm not asking enough for it and everyone thinks something is wrong with it. So I tried a little experiment. I advertised it again locally at $32,500. The next few days I got several calls with interest. One guy that had seen it outside my building with a For Sale sign in the window with my old price called and asked about it, and wanted all the details on what I had done. I told him all that was done, but didn't mention that it was exactly as the last time he looked. He made an appointment, came by and looked, and we took it for a drive. He liked it very much and his only comment was about the color. Said it wasn't his favorite, but he could live with it. He made an offer of 30K. I didn't bother to counter. I said I will take it if its cash. It will leave Monday.

Asking $27,500 OBO

Congratulations Jerry! I saw you been trying to sell it for a pretty long time. I guess its a matter of opinion on the color, but I really like it… and its DEFINITELY better than flat black.

Congratulations on the sale. Selling stuff is always weird. I have had parts I have taken to Carlisle sometimes for years. Small parts that never sold so nice original stuff always goes up in value and gets harder to find so I re-priced some stuff this year higher and it sold. All about who is looking and when.

Congratulations on the sale. I always liked the car and thought the price was very reasonable. If I didn't already have a 67 500, I would have bought it. I still think 66-67 B bodys are undervalued, and should bring more money than they do.

I ran into that at the much lower end of the spectrum years ago when I messed with VWs and an old truck. I had an easier time selling my more expensive cars.
Hell on another forum I am selling a running and driving Daytona turbo cheap and there is no interest, but maybe that’s because it’s an 80s k car

Congratulations Jerry, you do beautiful work. You're the King of 66-67 B body's.
I actually thought about that 500 for a long time, and if the top went down I'm sure I would have jumped.

That’s an interesting observation. I think that’s the general approach a lot of the big, classic car dealers use. Might work better for a private sale. Congratulations on getting it sold.

I’m sure that Jerry would have taken his top down for you to make a sale.

I watched that car when it was listed on here. Could never understand it not selling.
I like the color and it being a 500 with Jerry doing the resto , The price , I came very close to sending him a PM on it.
I'm glad it sold , I can stop thinking about it.

Totally agree, Pops and I learned this over 40 years ago when trying to sell an old Ford coupe. A very experienced "Old Timer" at a swap meet let us know our price was way to low to get the interest we needed to sell it. We raised the price about 60% and it sold in less than a month at full asking.

Congrats on the sale, and hopefully to a good home. I've also looked at that car every time you posted it, I like the color with the white interior.

I tried selling my 1967 Coronet 500 on Hemmings, FBBO, Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, Hagerty marketplace, etc, etc, etc.

Never an offer over $12,000 and mostly scammers and tire kickers.

Bring a Trailer sold it painlessly for $25,000. No tire kickers, no phone calls, no low ballers, and no scammers. I'll never list a car on anything else ever again.

(Road Runner will be on BaT soon)

Good price for your car and I'm glad it worked out.

Nice car, I like the colour. Sometimes selling just hits a brick wall for awhile. Too low of a price can get buyers thinking the car is low quality.
