I'm hoping to get an answer to the question, is this R/T grill correct? I've seen both the natural finish and the black finish on the center grill section. Example, at the recent Carlyle show there were both versions on different R/Ts shown. Both Looked Good But Which Is correct? The one pictured is how I got it in the 80s with my car but I recently redid the black.

The speed nut just left of center indicates it might have come from a Coronet 500. Cool look though, never seen that.

That spot left of center was a spot on the floor underneath. But I do have a 500 center that lines up with the grey line.

I always assumed that they came from the factory natural with the horzontal embossed bars painted black and the all blacked out ones were just out of convenience to not tape off the grille. IMHO, I like the natural look better. More work, but worth it.

69Runner I think you are correct. I googled Coronet 500 and found a picture of the blacked out grill with the grey or Argent horizontal stripes on the top and bottom.
