67 Coronet Interior

I have a 67 Coronet 500. Original Medium Copper Metallic outside and Copper and Brown interior.
While painting I did all the Copper upper door panels, dyed door cards copper, etc. While dealing with the interior seats and interior items I decided that it was just to much copper, so I went with white seats and buddy seat. I kept the copper on the seat medallions and like the contrast between the colors. I think I have made a decision on what to do with the seat backs, but would like to hear your input.

I actually like a car with the same int as body color.

However, that looks good and almost like it could have been a factory option.

For a few years a white interior car could have had a body color dash and carpet rather than mandatory black as in most other years.

I did something similar to my 73 to tone down the F6 green-

White seats and upper door panels.

I think it turned out nice and also looks like it could have come that way from the factory.

I don’t like straying from stock, as I am not creative or a colour guru, so I would have stayed copper just because it was original. That said, I think your interior looks great! I have a white on black interior, I love the white, and yours looks like an AC car I think so white will also be practical. For people like me it’s a mind/attitude/eye opener when someone does something different and interesting (and shares it). The medallions are a perfect offset contrast.

I think you made a great choice! Very nice car.

I'm partial to the copper interior/exterior (for obvious reasons), but I like the way yours looks as well. I definitely like keeping the seat backs copper vs white and the copper buttons are a nice touch. We'll done!

Curious, did you painted the dash and, if so, is it the original color? Mine has the same color combo as yours (originally), but when I had it painted the body shop didn't match the original paint on the dash or column. Instead, he took some of the body paint (SS) and added a flattening agent. Not necessarily what I intended, but I like the way it turned out. Only problem is he couldn't get the paint as flat as the original so I do get some glare at times.

This car was never intended to be a high dollar build and I have already spent more than intended, but I guess that's par for the course.
On another point my car had a white painted top originally and I am still out on that. It would bring the white to attention on the outside. I did the headliner in white instead of copper too.

I painted my glove box and dash bezel with Testor's model paint 30 yrs ago. Masked and sprayed both the black and silver.

Looks close in the picture. It flattened great just needs to be a tad darker.

It's a fair bit brighter and glossier. There are some scrapes on the column from taking in/out where you can see the original paint. Thankfully, they're under the dash or in the engine compartment. No one but me ever notices.

Hi Jerry, what we used in our 66 Coronet on the "Chrome" dash highlights was Chrome Finger Nail Polish. As you can imagine, I do not carry that union card to do the Nail Polish application, but I can tell you that my wife did a very nice job. We like the look anyway. Best to you all, B.

I’m not fan of white interiors. I do like the 60’s era and the matching interior to exterior, blue/blue, red/red, copper/copper... you get the idea. Black goes with everything and red goes with red, white and black exterior.

As long as we're airing opinions on color combo's...

I'm not a fan of a different color top, especially on 66/67, be it painted or vinyl.

I'm aware there is a clear delineation on this body that is not present on later cars, but I feel the color helps tie it together.

Although with that delineation and chrome trim, it's super easy to change or change back.

Looks like I’m in the minority here - I would make the seatbacks white. I like a nice white interior and since you already have your dash to offset - my vote is white.....
