how is this attached?
mine is missing and ive acquired a new frame but would rather just put the pivot arm on my new one if possible

it looks like there are 2 rivet heads close to it under the gasket.
do the rivets hold this arm on?

if i ground the heads off do you think i could remove it without damaging the gasket?
how would i reattach the new one?

More Rivets!

Remove both halves of the pivot from the window with the screw, now pull the gasket out of the frame for access to rivets and grinding. It is quite easy.

can this be done still on the car or do i need to remove the whole vent window and frame?
sorry if they're stupid questions but im not near the car for a week and i wanna get prepared.

last question i promise!
do i need to take the door panel off and loosten something on the lower post to remove the vent window?
the one i have out seems to have a screw and a cotter pin.
do you think i can do the riveting with the window still in but loose and floppy?

this is what i have.can i drill the rivets out from this side and put new ones in with the new pivot from the opposite way they were installed?im thinking the old head will get trapped in there and i wont be able to put a new rivet in at all.

im a little confused.is there a frame around the door and the vent window is inside of it or is the vent window frame the outermost frame?

I'm probably not describing this correctly.
if the vent window and frame are removed is there still another frame that is attached to the door that the vent frame is inside?
i can only find info on 69 and above.

Is this car a sedan or hardtop? Sedans have a full window frame, hardtops have a separate frame to contain/support the vent wing. What happened to your promise in post #9?:)
Mike
