mine is falling down .
it has ribs that seem to hold up sections but some of them are failing too.
it seems like the liner is particle board or something similar.
its stiff and i dont think i can get it to go back into shape.
any ideas on a fix?

When I was building my '67 Coronet wagon some 35 years ago, I adapted a 2-piece headliner out of a late '70's Chev wagon to fit. I wonder if something the same could be done with a van or large SUV headliner?

2 panels are severely warped and i cant get them back into shape.they are easy straightcuts.
i see lowes has .09 thich fiberglass reinforced pvc sheet that looks like it will conform well to the curves and stay up.
the only problem is that i can only get 2 panels out of the 4x8 sheet because of the length.
has anyone found any other good substitute?

I'll be watching to see what you do. I have a 67 wagon too. Mine is ok other than a couple of tears. I have a question though. If or while it's out, what kind of access do you have to the B pillar? Down the road I want to add 3 point belts into the car and am wondering if the top of the pillar is open all the way to the rocker. If it is, that could be an access point for me to drop a seat belt anchor plate in and weld it to the inside of the pillar. BTW, do you need the horizontal seal on the tailgate glass where it comes up through the gate opening? Just found a source as I need one too.

yes i can use that seal and many more! i took the worse panel down and riveted 2 wide strips of thin aluminum longways on each side.
this made the panel pretty straight again but made it a little heavier.then i took fiberglass sheet and fiberglassed the 2 sides wher its curved to give it more strength.lastly i glued a 1/2 thick foam rubber pad in the center.im going to put it in with gasket sealer against the roof to help support the center.hopefully it works. ill report back!
