First, the drivers door and rear passenger doors appear to be stuck hard. I believe the latch mechanism is still intact as I can definitely feel the door is locked when I lock it and the button does appear to have an unlatch feel to it. Any ideas? I have tried pushing the button hard and banging on the inside of the door but that has not helped.

Second, While trying to get the 318 started I noted I had spark from the ignition coil but it would not fire or even really try. After pulling the distributor cap I noted the position of the rotor and tried to turn the engine over again. The rotor did not move. I am going to assume the distributor gear is destroyed but ever distributor I have found seems to not have the gear. So what am I missing? Also what do I do about the destroyed gear?

Try jacking the car up at different points and then try to open the doors. Sometimes these unibody frames get warped enough to keep the doors from opening and closing. Otherwise might need to take inner door panels out and check out the latch mechanism from the inside.

For part 2 take the dist out and take a look at the shaft. Should be obvious if the gear is bad.

Check your door gap clearances.these cars had terrible tolerances.
