hi guys.
I have a Bendix disc brake system in my dodge coronet in front and of course drums in back.
First off, for disc brakes, it is not that great and I was hoping to get much more stopping power.
Now, I do know many companies have drum to disc conversions for front.
Is there a kit for replacing these weak bendix discs brakes? Or do I have to get a drum brake spindle and then get the kit. most companies seem to only have drum to disc conversions.

thanks.

Just do a search on disk brakes and you will find a lot of info on this site. I had a 67 rt coronet with the same disk brakes that you have. I figured by the time you rebulid the calipers and buy new rotors you're talking about 800 to 1000 dollars and I don't think they work that great. I converted that car to a 73-76 a-body disk brake system and the car stopped great. At least you don't have to change your proportioning valve.

I have them on a couple of my cars. They are very expensive to repair, but I have to say, I think they work great. Just pricey and more parts to break (not brake!) . Most likely you have something not working correctly. Going with something more modern will be easier and cheaper. Depends on whether you are going for origionality or not.
