Here is what I have, a '67 GTX that has been in the family since '70. The car belonged to my wife's father which passed away a year ago. He had many parts collected for the car already and recently I have added to the list. gtx.jpggtx2.jpg

My father-in-law had already collected rust free front fenders, hoods, bumpers, and interior parts. The main issue with the car is as usual the frame and floor boards. Here are a couple of hoods.hoods.jpg

Recently I purchased a parts car that has a good solid frame, and maybe floorboards. The car also came with many extra parts like rear wheel wells that are decent(besides the pair on the car are in really nice shape), after market rear quarters, although I may use the rear quarter on the car because it is in good condition. The car came from the south and for the most part is really solid compared to a Michigan car.parts 4.jpgparts 3.jpgparts 2.jpgparts 1.jpg

Now the question is, what comes first the sub frame repair or the floor boards?
I won't be starting on the actual project until spring(no heat in the garage), so I have time to do research on the repairs needed.
I have seen cars where the floor boards are replaced, and then cars that the frame has been replaced, but not both on the same car.
Any ideas would be of great help.
I did see a picture of a jig someone made to replace the frame and it seemed like a good idea.
I do not believe the picture is copyrighted so I will post it in the thread.frame jig 3.jpg

The jig and good measurements, are a great way to rebuild the car. I'd replace anything questionable...just so you never see the rust again. It looks like a great start and mindset/plan. I've done several complete roto resto's on 66-67 B's. Contact me about stuff, if you'd like. I'm also in Mi.

Mike.

Have you ever done a sub frame transplant?

Don't no if anyone noticed it or not but the four door has factory A/C on it, tempted to do transplant on that as well, but might be more than what it would be worth.
I have heard that the after market A/C units work much better and a cleaner install.
So come spring anybody need A/C parts?

Yeah. Done that. Nice clean cutting, weld drilling, and a fixture. No harder than any other major graft. These old cars were pretty forgiving in the measurements department.

Very nice!
