Spoke with a man this morning about a 66 Belvedere II and found out he has a 67 GTX for sale also. Trying to get all the specifics and pictures but he thinks it is a numbers matching car. It is a bucket seat, console, automatic with silver exterior and red interior. Body is in primer waiting for paint and interior has new seat covers and carpet installed. He wants $4500 for the GTX or $5500 with the 66 2DHT Belvedere II which is a numbers matching 318 poly/automatic car that is only missing the radiator and A/C compressor. I will post the pictures of the GTX shortly.

Sounds like a pretty good price. We'll have to see some pic's of course. Silver with red interior is a really good look, surprisingly not very common.

And as always, be suspicious of 66-67 cars in primer "ready for paint". Hell, all cars of all years for that matter.

No engine or trans VIN numbers stamped on pre 68 model cars. Can only be date code correct. Nothing to actually tie the motor and trans to a specific car.

I would not get my expectations up on the GTX if he wants $1,000 less than the 66 for it paint and interior ready with new seat covers and carpet.

No need to add a "felony hole" in the driver floor of the 66 either. Trunk looks surprisingly solid.

Did he give you any indication of what it would take to get either one running, or how long it had been since either one was in driving condition?

You have to ask yourself how much time and money it would take to get the car to the same level as a car at a higher price point. If you want to start from scratch and build something uniquely your own, an fairly intact and rust free non-runner may be the way to go.

Here is a cool steering wheel with a freshly chromed horn ring and steering column surround to go under it. All I am missing is the car! Frigging paint shop! 5 1/2 months and counting!

The pictures are of the 66 Belvedere II which I can get for $1000.00. I am still waiting on pictures of the GTX. The man wants $4500.00 for the GTX it has new interior (seat covers, carpet, headliner...). Yes the car will have to be put back together. I heard from the guy last night and he said he would be able to send pictures of it soon. From what he tells me it is a no frills GTX with no A/C, power steering, or power brakes. It is a console and bucket seat car though.

Sorry. I stand corrected. I did not read the $5,500 in your initial post as for the pair. $1,000 for anything fairly intact in a 2dr sounds like a real sweet deal. A GTX don need no stenking A/C, power steering or power brakes. LOL
