67 GTX Rear Roof To Fender Trim

My 67 GTX originally had a vinyl top which someone removed. When they did, it looks like they broke the back pins on this trim and then drilled out where the mounting pins were and reattached this piece with screws. I bought new pieces but do not know how they were originally attached. Did they have trim nuts on the back under the headliner or some kind of inserts into the body metal? If inserts, anyone know where these can be obtained?

yeh, they are held on with thin metal speed nuts like these.any auto part stores will have them just get the right size.

I was afraid of that! Crappy place to get to a speed nut. Since no sail panels, you have to get behind the headliner.
