I have three holes in my inner fender, which to me appears to be for a windshield washer pump. But my car is a 67 and i thought the design had changed to the in reservoir pump Ive always seen on 67 and later cars. Anyone else ever seen this?

Could be early 67! Using up the old parts.

vin code is RS23L71189757. Not sure if that makes it early or not.

The date code will be on your fender tag; a 3 digit number. My R/T is 306 = March 6th, 1967, which would be a mid-year build. Check yours and see what it says. To be an early build, I would think it would start with 7XX or 8XX (the XX being the day). This would indicate a July or August 66 build date.

I'll also check my R/T tomorrow for these holes, in case they were carried over in 67 from 66. Although, mine is a St. Louis built car, and yours is not. Sometimes, (frequently?) different plants have minor build detail differences. Anyway, I'll check mine and post what I find.

Cheers,

JD

Thanks a lot, ill be awaiting your post. Unfortunatley my GTX has no fender tag, went missing in Massachusetts in the 90's.

Sorry for the delay; it's been a crazy few days here. I checked my car, and it looks exactly like yours does. I have three holes in the RH inner fender apron just like yours. Screws have never been installed in them, and mine is an original paint car, so I'm confident that these have never been used. Apparently these holes are just left over from '66, and not used on the '67's. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

JD
