Hi everyone can anyone tell me the correct part number for a 67 GTX 440 auto trans vacuum advance thanks

Good luck with this one. Check for a date stamp on the inside of the distributor, my 67 383 had a '66 date on it and the advance pod Is obsolete ! ended up having to change distributors. If you can snap a picture i'll be happy to let you know if it was the same as mine, I still have it and the dist. on the bench.....

My distributor part number is correct I was looking for a part number for the vacuum advance I purchased the distributor online and I believe that the vacuum advance is not correct I wanted to know what the correct number was thanks

If I'm reading my parts catalog correctly - Vac Adv for a 440 w/ Auto trans - Hi-Perf is #2642780, and for Std Perf #2642526.
That's with a Hi-Perf distributor number of #2642822 and a Std Perf distributor number of #2642816.

Thanks for the info when I researched the distributor according to the Galen white parts book the distributor should be 2642748 without cap package the number distributor you looked up is for the cap package could you check which vacuum advance goes with this number thanks

I think you misunderstood me, what I was saying is if your distributor was a 66/67 date the advance might not be available regardless of the part number. Your best bet is to take the pod to napa and match it up to one in the cataloge. It will most likely be adjustable so don't forget to fine tune it

The vacuum advance unit for the 2642748 distributor is the high performance part number 2642780.

Out of curiosity I checked an old distributor on the shelf, that came off a 383. The vacuum advance part# is 2642774. What would that have come off originally? Or what is it correct for? Thanks "in advance"

As far as finding the "correct" advance for "your" distributor, good luck. The advance unit is stamped on the arm with the amount of vacuum required to move the arm,no part number on the unit. The only way to get the correct advance is to find a N.O.S. advance still in the original part numbered box and that is by far a long shot.

If you have one with a part number, they are few and far between, the majority don't.
