The casting date should be within a few weeks prior to the build date of the car. A block cast in 65 would not originally be found in a car built in 67 or for that matter late 66.
I am thinking that the block or entire engine was replaced with an early 1966 440 engine and cold stamped HP. There were no HP 440's in 1966 and a 67 440 HP would show a "C" on the pad. The 440 engine in 1966 was usually found in C bodies such as Imperials.
