67 rear quarter repair

I have a 67 Belvedere ll, the drivers rear quarter was welded badly, the lower part is good the top is good the center section from middle over the wheel back is messed up, will the middle section from a 4 door work or would it be possible to cut behind the wheel opening and weld on the complete rear section from a 4 door on it?

someone else may chime in, but i think the two and 4 doors are the same past the wheel wells.

Yes.... they are the same, all the way back, including the taillight area. The 4dr quarter panel around the wheelhouse is the same as a 2dr car, but the lower most part of outer quarter (front lower) is kind of tight, massaging it into a 2dr quarter panel, but can be done with patience. They are the same but will need to be cut and fit properly.

PM donbmopar and have him send you a picture of the full quarter panels he made for his 67 GTX 2dr ht out of 4 dr quarter panels and back doors. What you are doing should work. What he did is pretty frigging amazing in my book. I had never seen this done, but it turned out really slick.
